Keri Aufdencamp
Environmental Compliance Manager
What are your responsibilities on the job site?
I am part of the MnDOT construction oversight team. My role is Environmental Compliance Manager. I verify that the project is meeting the project’s environmental requirements. Some examples of this would include making sure that the project is in compliance with permits by attending construction meetings, reviewing proposed project plans, and verifying compliance in the field.
The project has a number of environmental items on the project. Some examples include: contaminated materials, regulated materials, wetlands, SWPPP (Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans), etc.
How have you seen the industry change for women in your career?
I’ve been supporting construction for over 20 years and have often been the only woman or one of just a few women on the project. It’s so great to see that more women are entering the construction industry in such a variety of positions.
